The Rules

These rules were conceived, like many other of our house rules, after several pints down the local pub!!

The initial intention was to create some easy to live with rules that will..

a) Help the slower painters, and

b) Help the older players

of the club to clear some of their warhammer figures that had remained unpainted for many months (and in some cases years).

(Obviously we decided to use the Warhammer armies for our challenge, feel free to adopt whatever ruleset you have the most unpainted figures for!)

They work like this........

Start by painting 500 points from your Core options, chosen from the relevant Army Book. You have three months to paint and base these models. The only stipluation is that they can only come form your Core choices.

Once the three months are up, we start again, only this time you can choose 500 points of anything except Core.

The following three months it is back to Core, and the final three months it is anything else.

At the end of the year you will have a 2000 point fully painted & based army.

That's it - nice and simple.

We have actually expanded it to create a small competition using the armies as they get painted. Obviously this will lead to points differences between the forces, but so what - battles were never fought with equal sides.
